Timberland came into being in 1973. It revolutionised the shoe industry by introducing a new manufacturing technique called injection-moulding, which for the first time ever allowed a completely waterproof shoe to be manufactured by gluing the leather sole without stitching.

Timberland still produces its famous sturdy and extremely hard-wearing waterproof boots today. The Timberland brand has also diversified with high-tech products for forestry, water sports and industry, and also with clothes and accessories.
