Coming from a family of shoemakers, Terry De Havilland saw from an early age the powerful effect a beautiful pair of shoes can have on women and soon realized that designing shoes was his destined career path. Terry cut his first pair of shoes when he was on leave from National Service and by 1960 his father’s business had really taken off, so Terry De Havilland was brought in to assist and it was around this time that he really began to design. Terry’s big break came in 1964 when he was going out with a young model called Perin Leiws. A pair of shoes he had made her were spotted on a photshoot and ended up being stocked by Sue Lock’s Boutique on the Kings Road. The editor of Queen magazine at the time, Annie Traherne, saw them and featured them in the magazine. They were an instant success and started Terry’s career as a shoe designer. The rest is history, through the decades that followed until the present day Terry De Havilland has remained at the forefront of Women’s fashion, designing couture for celebrities such as Kate Moss, Sienna Miller and Girls Aloud. Terry De Havilland’s beautiful designs are now available at Sarenza.More
