Any shoe professional will tell you that new leather shoes must be polished to keep them looking pristine. But contrary to what you might think, polishing alone is not enough! The most important thing is to use a nourishing cream. Choose a colour slightly paler than the shoe leather in order to preserve the colour (or slightly darker if you want to highlight the colour). Use a brush to dust off the leather before applying the cream with a cloth. Rub in gently using a light circular motion. Leave the cream to dry for a few minutes, then shine your shoes with a soft brush. Now you can apply the polish.

Get the amount you need for the whole shoe on a cloth. Lightly massage into the leather using a circular motion. Finish each shoe by dampening the cloth with a drop of water to "set" the polish. Allow to dry for a few minutes, then brush so that the polish penetrates the leather. Leave to rest, then buff up vigorously with a cotton cloth.

Well-cared for shoes will last a whole lot longer…

Your feet suffer! Enclosed, compressed, confined... mistreated on a daily basis inside your shoes, your feet are the target of any number of ailments that can affect their health.

Frequent wearing of sports shoes or shoes that are too tight causes your feet to sweat and become damp. Sweat in turn provides a breeding ground for bacteria and encourages eczema and other fungal infections, the most common of which are athlete's foot and onychomycosis. Many people suffer from these ailments as a result of wearing non-ventilated shoes. Athlete's foot results in cracked, split skin between the toes and severe itching, while onychomycosis is a fungal infection that affects the nail itself and the bed beneath the nails. These minor infections require rapid medical treatment as they are contagious.

To avoid all this, just follow our simple advice:

  • Choose socks made of natural fibres that absorb sweat better.

  • Soles with holes improve circulation of air inside the shoe.

  • Don't always wear the same pair of shoes, and disinfect the inside from time to time.

  • Go for soft leathers that allow the feet to breathe and keep them cool.

  • And the best protection, of course, is to keep your feet beautifully clean: simply wash them regularly with soap and water!
