In 1954, Elisabeth and Walter Giesswein founded a knitwear company in Austria. In 1974, flushed with success, the company branched out into shoes with its famous "Austrian slipper". In 1986, they started distributing to Italy, Spain and the United States, with France catching on in 1993. In 1999, Giesswein applied for a patent for the process of rubberising its shoes. These comfortable and hard-wearing shoes from Giesswein are now available on our site.More
